the second son of harold and edith barton, he grew up working in his father's butcher shop with his brother barney. life was simple, but their father made it complicated whenever possible. he would get drunk, get angry, take it out on the kids - a story as old as time.a story older than time came from it - a drunken father costs the kids both their parents in one simple car crash. the system takes them both and juggles them around for a while.the only thing that keeps them is carson carnival. they do whatever work they can find, earn a keep. they learn from the workers there, and eventually clint catches on to more than he should. his mentor embezzeled money from the circus - but they're faster than him.beaten and left for dead, clint was left on his own.finding a new circus to join, he focused more and honed his skills. 'hawkeye' was born, a marksman better than any other. the star of the show at tiboldt's traveling circus.as to be expected, the hawkeye known to the world today isn't fully formed until natasha. caught and accused of being a thief, she bailed him out and took him on as a partner. the rest is history, the rest brings the avengers and what would be the rest of clint's life.
